After a lull due to the pandemic, AMM Thailand started to slowly come out and continue what they had been doing before: face to face meetings, distribution of medals and novenas, and visiting the sick. During the crucial time of COVID, however, they had held regular monthly meetings, praying the rosary and novena, via Line.

Members of AMM Thailand attend a recollection in preparation for the Lenten season

AMM Thailand’s 2023 activities were kickstarted by a Lenten recollection and making available the Sacrament of Reconciliation in Confession on 25 February 2023, Saturday. The members had a day of prayer and recollection with Fr. Ramon Encinares, CM officiating and facilitating the activities. It was held at the Chapel of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal in St. Vincent de Paul Seminary in Sampran, Nakhon Pathom, Thailand. Fr. Joseph Samaniego Briones, PIME, who happened to be visiting, served as confessor to the group.

The First Novena and Medal Distribution after the Pandemic was held the following day, 26 February (Sunday) at St. Anne’s Church in Samut Sakhun Province. Two Eucharistic celebrations were held – the first Mass was in Thai, officiated by Fr. Sarawut & Fr. Joseph. There were about three hundred Thai parishioners in attendance.

The second Mass was in Burmese, attended by about a hundred Burmese migrant workers in Samut Sakhun Province in Thailand officiated by Fr. Albert, a Burmese priest. Dominican Sisters, Sr. Nenita Morano, O.P., Sr. Ma. Frances Fadulla, O.P., & Sr. Pia Alcazar, O.P. who are assigned in Samut Sakhun, assisted & helped organize the group for the medal & novena distribution.
